Did you know that test scores are not required for admissions at all colleges? There are a number of schools these days that offer more flexible options when it comes to submitting test scores. They understand that these scores aren’t necessarily indicative of a student’s future success in college.
Here are just a few schools with “test-optional” or “test-flexible” policies:
- Wake Forest University
- University of Texas – Austin
- University of Colorado – Boulder
- Middlebury College
- American University
By de-emphasizing test scores in their college admissions process, these schools do look more closely at the essays in the applications. For advice on what makes a good college essay, see our other blog post, What Makes a Good College Essay?.
